Are Rodam furniture made exclusively from solid wood?
All wooden components are made from solid wood. We use plywood panels only for furniture back panels and drawer bottoms. Our hinges are made of high-quality steel and aluminum. Depending on the product, our wood is also combined with steel, ceramic, glass, fabric or leather.
Are there differences in solid wood?
The term “solid wood” is used either when an element of a furniture is made from a single section of a tree. This could be a single table leg, for example. “Solid wood” refers also to glued components made from solid pieces of wood. The difference to solid wood is that complex joints are created with the help of glue. These can be table tops, for example.
What are the advantages of solid wood furniture from Rodam's point of view?
Solid wood furniture impresses with its natural appearance. Every square centimetre of wood is characterized by an unique grain and colouring. Complex joints and special edge finishes, such as our characteristic curves, are only possible by using solid wood. Solid wood furniture are extremely robust, durable and easy to repair. The surfaces can be sanded and refinished for decades.
Where does Rodam source its timber from?
We source oak and beech wood from sustainable German and European forestry. Walnut and cherry we purchase from America.
Is it possible to customize Rodam products?
We offer a wide range of pre-configured dimensions for many of our furniture to give you the greatest possible flexibility. Custom-made products are also available on request. As we manufacture everything in our factory in Schöppingen, we can meet your individual requirements.
Our Pares and Sigma-R14 cabinet systems offer a particularly high level of design freedom. With a close grid dimension, you can plan your sideboard or wall unit entirely according to your own ideas. Your local dealer will be happy to help you with the planning.
