EXPOSURE TO SUNLIGHT
In bright rooms and due to continuous direct sunlight, the color tone of the wood changes. Especially with extendable tables, make sure that the inserts also get some sunlight. Otherwise you will see a clear difference in color over the years. If you are planning to be away from home for a longer period of time, you are well advised to leave the table extended.
ROOM CLIMATE
Try to keep your air humidity constant. Especially in winter with dry heating air, it is advisable to use a humidifier. Do not place any hot or wet objects on the wooden surface. Spilled liquids should be wiped up quickly and coasters should be used for hot items. Do not place solid wood furniture too close to the heater. Otherwise the wood may dry out or even crack. A constant room climate is preferable and protects your furniture.
OILING WOOD
The more often the solid wood is oiled, the less vulnerable it will be - however, this increases the gloss level. Therefore, if possible, always treat the entire surface so that you don't end up with a different sheen in a singular area.
