How do I react to water stains in the wood?
Wood loves water. To avoid damage, a quick reaction is essential. As soon as water gets onto the surface of your solid wood furniture , wipe it away immediately. This will prevent permanent stains and damage. If a water mark or stain does occur, it can usually be treated at home. Use our special care set and find out how it works below:
A major advantage of oiled surfaces is their particularly high repair capability.
If years of wear and tear have left marks on your solid wood furniture, oiled surfaces can be retreated at home for scratches and water stains. For light soiling, apply the care oil to the affected area over a large area, leave it to work for approx. 15 minutes, then spread it over the entire surface with a cotton cloth and polish it out in the direction of the grain with the fine, white pad from our care set. Then rub the surface completely dry with the cotton cloth.
In the case of more severe water stains, we recommend that you first apply the care oil generously to the affected area, allow it to work in and then remove it with the coarse black pad in the direction of the fibers. Next, apply more oil to the entire surface with a cotton cloth and polish dry after 15 minutes. If necessary, the surface can be lightly sanded with P240 sandpaper before applying the oil. Each sanding process and oil application should be applied to the entire surface so that a uniform gloss level is maintained.
